Coastal Vision

The vision is simple, Build The Church and Influence The City by Engaging People With Life-Changing Love.

We have (5) five simple means where we engage.

1- Sunday Services

2- Small Groups

3- Encounter Experiences

4- Growth Track

5- Serve Initiative

When we teach, we will not merely teach our own opinions, inspirational stories, or the latest psychological self-help advice. We will preach the Bible (2 Tim. 4:2). We believe that this book is unbelievably powerful (Heb 4:12). And we believe this book is not just about principles—it is about a Person (Lk. 24:27; Heb. 1:1-3). The Bible is ultimately about the person and work of Jesus, and the Good News about what he has accomplished. You don’t just read this book; this book will read you. When you read this book, you will encounter Jesus and He will change you (2 Cor. 3:17-18). When we gather we will preach the Bible. Our community groups will study the Bible and talk through questions about understanding the Bible. Our leaders will make prayerful decisions according to the standards of the Gospel and with the fear of the Lord (Heb 13:17). We will not be man-centered or method-centered (Ps. 118: 8-9). We will be Gospel-centered.

Family is important to us. Marriage is important to us. Relationships are important to us. We prize the role of community higher than programs, because we believe that Christians who walk in love with one another are a representation to the world that validates the truth of the gospel (Jn. 13:34-35; Eph. 5:32). We will eat together, discuss the Bible together, pray for each other’s needs as we share together, and evangelistically serve our city together. Coastal will be intentional in matters regarding marriage, family, and friendships, because we believe relationships are important to God. And we believe great Christian relationships give glory to our great God (1 Jn. 4:11-14).

Coastal Chapel is a place for people on every part of the spiritual journey, from those just investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life. This is a safe place for everyone. But safe doesn’t mean serene. The Bible presents a dangerous message of life change. We expect every person to be moving closer to being the complete image of Christ in every area of life. This is not always a comfortable process. In fact we often grow only when we are pushed out of our comfort zones. [Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:24]

To achieve a God-sized vision it takes everyone contributing. We are dedicated to team ministry. If you want to change the world, you can’t do it alone. Coastal believes that significance is connected to partnership. We believe we are missionaries to our community and world. We continually look for opportunities to engage our local culture and beyond to influence them with the gospel. We believe every person has a unique role to play in accomplishing the vision God has given Coastal. (John 20:21, Luke 24:47, Ephesians 2:10) God graces each person to serve in various capacities but we all pitch in to press the vision forward.
